Skill
  • balance, coordination, rhythm, and timing.
Range - the positions from which you can produce force.
Force - fast and slow, move yourself and other objects.
Repeatability - The ability to reproduce great performances over and over.

Brands Of MVMT

We love CrossFit, Strength Gymnastics, Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Strongman training, and athletic development. In the end, these are all labels applied to human movement. Let's all move better.

How To Train Well

1. ENVIRONMENT
Improve your training environment with coaching, training partners, and online accountability.
2. STAY FRESH, RECOVER WELL
You can train with frequency or intensity but not with both.
3. MOVE BETTER
The goal is always to connect more deeply with the body and execute better.
4. TRAIN FOR TOMORROW
What would your 80-year-old self say about... those last reps, the weight, your joint health?
5. GET OUT EARLY
This is the same point twice. If taking those last sets/reps/weights will take away from your training for the next week, don't take them. Stay hungry. Know there is more there.

What's The Difference?

There is nothing truly new in the performance world.
Just like chefs are basically working with the same ingredients.
Still, some chefs earn a Michelin 3 Star Rating while others get complaints...

Exercise Selection

We use the exercises that have the greatest impact on your performance and longevity. The biggest influence on our movement selection is Charles Poliquin and many of his students who've continued his legacy. Ben Patrick in particular is a student of Charles' who has created a legacy of his own adapting and popularising Poliquin style training for running and jumping athletes.

Training Density

If you have 3 hours to train every day, that's great. If you don't you can still get world-class results. RealMVMT has a 20-minute Strength Block and a 20-minute Symmetry block each session. We also include SKILLS to make sure you're ready for the real world as well as the gym floor.
Clusters - do 1-5 reps every 15 seconds
Alternating clusters - do 1-5 reps every 30 seconds with a different movement to be performed every 15 seconds.
Dense Strength - 5/10/20 minute blocks of movement on the minute. Start a new set every minute. Dense Strength also has prescribed intensities.

Skills

While athletes constantly refine mind-muscle connections, most people aren't athletes.
Even those who are often suffering from over-specialization with a lack of fundamentals.
RealMVMT systems are proven with international and Olympic-level athletes to improve performance. The systems also help everyday Joe to find new levels of self-awareness and performance.
Habits are skills. When you learn a new skill, you have a new habit and you've proven to yourself your ability to adapt and change.
Our juggling and balance systems make sure you have your whole body well connected and ready to go for any scenario.
Tennis, golf, basketball, soccer... you won't be the world's best based on our foundation but you will surprise yourself with how well you pick it up.
One of the greatest shames of the modern "gym-goer" era is not equipping people for real-life movement challenges.
Juggling - connect your hands to your brain and dramatically improve your visual tracking.
Footbag - connect your feet to your brain and dramatically improve your balance.
Handstands - Get comfortable with inversion. Spacial awareness, body awareness, and stress tolerance can be greatly improved.

No Junk Training

One of the biggest differences in RealMVMT is that there is no "let's just burn some calories" mentality.
Our training is designed for greatness.
What will it take for you to be the leader you want to be for your family and the world?
Our training is designed to complement those with big dreams to get out and "be the change." (as Jordan Potts at Exalto has stolen from Gandhi)
The time for terrible quality "air squats", "burpees" and "push-ups" as the starting point for physical transformation must come to an end.
Endurance training is repeating something good over and over again!

Not many community performance brands can actually say they're based on methods that have worked with world champion athletes. Keegan Smith, founder of RealMVMT has worked with NRL and world champion Sydney Roosters, Sonny Bill Williams, champion ironman Ali Day and other Olympic and national level athletes.
What works for them works for you. Bringing an athlete back to their best is very similar to bringing someone debilitated by lack of activity into their athletic best.
