Presentations

Paul Counsel's - NeuroScience Of Decision Making series goes deep into this. You can also see how engaging his presentations are.

Keys to great educational presentations.

1. Stimulate visually.
The eyes are the gateway to attention.
Mental attention follows visual attention.

2. Share no more than 3 key ideas
What are the 3 ideas for the presentation?

3. Have 3 elements to support each idea
One of the elements should be to re-stimulate attention.
The next element is to insert the idea.
As you explain more about the idea attention will fade and the cycle must start again.

4. Have no more than 1 idea per slide.
Image, text, and audio to help every slide have more impact.
Use the least number of words possible.

5. The introduction and the conclusion are what will be remembered most.
End with a tangible outcome.

Interesting Side Notes
Narrowing the eyes indicates a narrowing of focus and is required.

Deliberate Experience is required to re-wire the brain and create new knowledge to drive new behavior.

Blinking is a reset of the brain and happens too much for optimal learning in adults.

We must understand ADULT LEARNING to create the change we want.
