Testing & What Your Graduation Means To Ben
Welcome to Lesson 11, AKA "Testing Week!"
Keep in mind that I laid out the course over a 10-week period, with a new lesson each week. But this was just round 1, and I will be keeping the Knee Ability Cert up to date year-round. This is my life. Not just one course. So I'll have new videos multi-weekly, year-round, dropping in the course, and as determined with the RMVT admin staff, we will evolve the lessons in the best order possible.
Now let's move on with Week 11. There are 8 Knee Essentials, and I will list 3 numbers for each one:
The Certification Passing Standard: this is the number you must reach yourself in order to be certified. This number really ensures you know what it will feel like for your clients.
The Standard: this number will be slightly higher than the Certification Passing Standard, and I highly encourage all coaches to reach it. This number is what has proven to be the most stable in terms of preventing knee issues.
The World-Class Number: this is a number that presents great RISK to achieve, BUT if you are training for high-risk sports, it gives you world-class PROTECTION. So, PATIENTLY working your way to this number, will be crucial for many athletes. I know from achieving all these numbers myself how to safely get here.
Let's dive in:
1. Patrick Step Up
CERT: 6 inch (15 centimeter) box with 50% bodyweight for 10 reps,
STANDARD: same box and reps, but 100% bodyweight,
WORLD-CLASS: same box and reps, but 150% bodyweight!
2. ATG Split Squat
CERT: flat ground with 25% bodyweight for 5 reps,
STANDARD: flat ground with 50% bodyweight for 5 reps,
WORLD-CLASS: flat ground with ankle FLAT and 100% bodyweight for 3 reps!
3. KOT Squat
CERT: to 6" pad or lower for 10 reps,
STANDARD: to 2" pad for 10 reps,
WORLD-CLASS: to 6" DEFICIT for 1 rep, AND to 25% bodyweight to 2" pad for 1 rep
4. VMO Squat
CERT: to 25% bodyweight at chest for 10 reps, STANDARD: to 25% bodyweight behind glutes for 10 reps, WORLD-CLASS then enters the realm of heavier Front/Back Squats, which is a subject for Keegan, Lucas, and other great members of RMVT to pave the way for since this is not a mandatory part of Knee Ability.
5. Nordic
CERT: at least 1 flat rep! STANDARD: 10 reps flat, WORLD-CLASS: 1 flat rep SINGLE-LEG!
6. Tibialis
CERT: 10% x 20 reps with dumbbell,
STANDARD: 12.5% x 20 reps with dumbbell,
WORLD-CLASS: still being determined!
7. Calf Raise (both Standing and KOT)
CERT: 10 reps single-leg,
STANDARD: 10 reps single-leg + 25% bodyweight,
WORLD-CLASS: 10 reps single-leg + 50% bodyweight!
8. Hip Flexors
CERT: ability to get off ground L-Sit, or get toes to bar on stall bars, or Low-Cable Pull 50% bodyweight for multiple reps,
STANDARD: L-Sit 30 seconds, Toes to Bar x 10, Low-Cable 50% bodyweight x 20!
World-Class: Stall Bars = adding ankle weights! (more time needed to know how much), Low-Cable 20 reps with 50% bodyweight SINGLE LEG, -L-Sit = adding ankle weights! (more time need to know how much)
I am absolutely excited beyond words to see our first Certified Knee Ability Coaches!
Achieve those CERT marks for yourself and others, plus pass educational materials as determined by RMVT Admin, and you DESERVE IT!
Already we are seeing many of you who are taking the course, changing the lives of others - I've said it before and I'll say it again: I've achieved over 1000 Knee Success stories, but ANYONE can achieve 1000 more!
Even on my end, I'm now getting up to 10 new knee success stories per day, and I could finish 2020 with around 3000 knee successes.
So clearly from working to the World-Class marks, your effectiveness in reaching clients keeps climbing. For that reason, I have given RMVT authority for graduates who reach the World-Class numbers the right to coach in-person Knee Ability certification courses!
I genuinely believe our strength is in numbers, and I believe in staying "in the lab" - rather than trying to do it all myself.
I trust RMVT with the responsibility to not only certify coaches in Knee Ability but even create coaches capable of certifying MORE coaches themselves, for their own profit! (as worked out with RMVT.)
Very exciting times ahead with such POWERFUL yet generous coaches all working together! I will keep dropping new content each week in the Knee Ability Cert section, and my new Online Coaching/Social Media Presence Course begins Week 1 this coming week!
No delays! No time to wait to change the world for the better! Appreciate every day and remember your greatest gift and joy is the ability to help others!
