question from jasper
cad lech 196 i'm sure i'm butchering
that
how do you deal with having coaches who
do traditional lifting
while on atg
to be honest it's a really simple one we
love coaches doing other
movements while being on atg
weightlifting powerlifting
whatever it's going to be you know
strong man
for basketball for hockey it's for
whatever you want it to be for
that's what atg is meant to be it is
this ultimate human foundation it only
takes half an hour
you don't have to go you know balls to
wall with it you don't have to take it
to a point of
extreme fatigue it's meant to be a
supplement it's not meant to be a sport
it's a great foundation for crossfit
it's a great foundation for whatever
else you want to do so
we highly encourage coaches to take on
other aspects with it
in saying that if you want to really
focus on those numbers and just push
them hard
for a year or two that's probably a
great idea as well
you know if a lot of athletes took time
out
they took a year off from their sport
and they just got themselves the point
of being able to do you know martin
saint louis
to hitting all of the standards if they
hit those mutton saint louis nordics
you know if they're able to do poliquin
step ups half body weight to the dense
strength standard
they're going to go back and they're
going to feel much much better to be
able to express their skills talents and
abilities
so it's undervalued the red shirt
concept doesn't really exist in most
sports the idea
that exists in american colleges of like
you're not going to play but we're going
to develop you
so that later you can play well most
athletes actually never get that
opportunity and they
should and um yeah that's how i see the
atg
system so we we're happy for people to
use it as a foundation for other things
it's not really a standalone program
but of course you can have fun using it
that way and then
just go play in the park whenever the
opportunity arises
