1.Eat real foods – If you couldn’t eat it 10 000 years ago don’t eat it now (unless it’s a health supplement that you know is going to help you). This historical perspective on food also leads to biodynamic and organic foods since all agrochemicals (pesticides, fungicides, rodenticides, chemical fertilisers) are brand new to the human body. If you start thinking about and loving the foods you eat while you’re preparing and enjoying them you’ll also have great gains in health and vitality! Trans fats, vegetable oils, refined salt and sugar also brand new and deadly to the human body.
2. Don’t drink calories – liquid calories will make you insulin resistant on the path to disease and take years and quality off your life. Drink good quality water along with a glass or two of 2 and a cup of coffee per day if you like it (before noon and before training).
3Earn your carbohydrates – Charles Poliquin says it and I know it’s true. If you’re not lean you shouldn’t be eating foods like potatoes and rice. Nobody needs to be eating gluten containing carbohydrate sources like pasta, bread etc.
