This audio series with Daryl Millard is dedicated to discussing the role of stimulants in gym training and on field performance. The biggest take home message is not to use stimulants as a crutch to make up for poor lifestyle factors and not to overdo stimulants in the gym if you’re also going to be using them for your event. Young athletes and their coaches should be especially cautious and think carefully about the long-term progression for performance.

Personal note – I haven’t used stimulants like caffeine or even coffee at all for the last 6 months because my focus has been on rebuilding stable energy levels and adrenal function. During this time I have been able to improve my lifts and improve my energy levels.
