Having the basic capacity to move well, produce force and learn new skills is the reason why the best kid at one sport is often the best at just about all sports in their school.
On the other side of the coin the kid that can’t move his body is generally bad at all sports.
A base of functioning, supple, strong joints and good force production is a good base for any sport. If you can add to that some body awareness and game sense developed by playing lots of different sports or something like gymnastics or martial arts then you’re onto a winner.
