I have recently purchased equipment from some of Australia’s best gym equipment distributors.
The products I purchased through Rogue Australia arrived on time and are all great. I love the Rogue reverse hyper, the GHG is rock solid but not unbearable for those with tight rectus femorus. The clip lock collars are also great and make using collars less of a painful process. The Rogue bar is perfect and feels great for olympic lifting and in the rack. The products are great. I hope that as the company grows the prices will be more similar to the US prices because the gear is great.
I purchased the Pendlay plates and a MDUSA no-limits programable interval timers through Muscle driver Australia who are based on the central coast. They were great to deal with, their prices are very good and I will definitely be looking to use them in the future. The Pendlay plates are awesome and make you want to lift more just looking at them, they make you feel like a lifter just loading them on the bar! The timer looks good but it’s not up on the wall yet.
Eleiko bar – They’re expensive but they are good. I don’t think we’ll buy another one (we have 3 now plus the rogue bar so probably no need anyway) The knurling is vicious! You can get them from Getstrength.com . I hope to get a few things from them in the near future.
The bands from Dan Baker are great. We have had 2 break but I think it was more from misuse than any quality issues. We got a bunch of heavy-duty bands from IronEdge that are great too!
IronEdge.com.au have also supplied us with a lot of our new gear including plyo-boxes, log bars, farmers walk implements, bands, an iron-cage and an adjustable bench. Most of the stuff is great but we have had a couple of issues with stuff that has to be assembled. They have been helpful with correcting this so we should be on track by 2013.
I’m still looking to add a yoke and some chains to the gym as well as installing the lifting platforms into the floor to free up some more floor space. Overall I’m very happy with the progression of the gym environment but there is a lot of room for improvement.
