A little variation here.
Story goes the chicks dig big tibs according to Ben Patrick.
That's not really my motivation for doing them at this stage but you're going to get a lot more out-of-range activation here.
In the more stretched position you're switching on the muscle.
What that means is there's already more connective tissue and resting tension in the muscle and that's going to result in more structural damage which will cause a more anabolic effect from the wall tibialis raises.
It's also significantly more difficult than going back onto the flat ground.
If you're looking for some more intensity into your tibs then this is an option.
Another way that you can progress even further is to go eccentric overload.
Think of these as single-leg Nordics.
Take as much weight as you can then you're going to get some real intensity.
You can do this as a mechanical drop set.
Work as hard as you can on the board.
Move the board out of the way.
Less mechanical challenge on the flat ground and you feel it's a very different position that you're working on.
You're gonna get those big tips and that's what we need.
